Now it is time to test if the image grind is correctly generated if I put a link right before the attached images:

There was a post were I put a link just before the attached images. In this post the grid was not generated. Now I test if the Image grid still works in general:

Thank you so much for your valuable research. That helps a lot. Now I have a suspicion: It is related to the rotation. I opened one of the affected images in GIMP and here I see (testing portrait screenshot by the way):
